We are a city whose own establishment was affected by a natural disaster and we have experienced more than our share of them in the past 450 years.

In the aftermath of something that shakes up our confidence in the order of things, time and time again we have proven to be a community that comes together through the understanding of our shared vulnerability.

Times like these inspire human kindness and the desire to stand together and support one another. No one wants to face catastrophe and loss, but when we do, it brings us together with a sense of bonding like nothing else and it becomes our time to shine.

We are at our best when things are the worst.

We are the people of Pensacola.
