The Pensacola City Council shuffled the leadership deck this morning.
Councilman Andy Terhaar was elected president and Larry Johnson was elected vice president of council following a swearing in ceremony for newly re-elected members Tuesday morning at City Hall.
It took three rounds of voting to get the requisite five votes to settle on Terhaar as president. He tied 4-4 with Jewel Cannada-Wynn, who had been council president until this morning.
The council now has eight members. The at-large seats, which voters chose to sunset, began being vacated today.
Megan Pratt, the at-large Seat A members whose seat is the first to sunset, was honored before the swearing ins for her dedication and service to Pensacola and the community.
"Now I join the interested and engaged citizens of our community," she told her former colleagues on council. "We expect great things."
