Pensacola natives who shine on the baseball diamond will be honored at the City of Champions event Feb. 5 at the Pensacola Bay Center.

The event is sponsored by the Levin Papantonio Law Firm and the Blue Wahoos. This is the first year the event will be held at the Bay Center and tickets are now on sale to the public.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with Pensacola’s star athletes at a cocktail reception followed by dinner.

Remarks from Buck Showalter, manager of the Baltimore Orioles, and Don Sutton, Major League Baseball Hall of Famer, will follow dinner.

“We are thrilled to be hosting a third City of Champions event showcasing the talent, achievements, and legacy of national sports heroes who started in Pensacola,” said event organizer Shirley Cronley.

Proceeds will benefit The Pensacola Sports Museum, formed in March 2013, which will showcase the many athletes from Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Individual tickets are available for purchase by contacting Sally Garst at Pensacola Sports Association: 101 W. Main St., Pensacola, FL 32501 (850) 434-2800. Adults are $175 and children 12 and under are $50.
