Gallery: Freedoms Foundation award banquet

On Tuesday evening, the Pensacola chapter of the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge held its annual awards banquet. Over 150 guests were in attendance at Seville Quarter's Heritage Hall for the event, with Butch Wallace serving as master of ceremonies. Freedoms Foundation The Freedoms Foundation was established in 1949 by E.F. Hutton, Don Belding, Kenneth Wells, and General Dwight D. Eisenhower to promote education and recognition of American democratic values. The Pensacola chapter was founded in 1983. Every year, it conducts a nomination process for projects and individuals that exemplify the mission "to teach, support, and foster the principles and obligations of freedom." 11 awards were handed out at Tuesday's ceremony. "This evening represented the best in patriotism and volunteerism in our community," said Dr. Jacqueline Young, the chapter's vice president of awards. "All these people are doing amazing things for our community." The full list of awards and their recipients is below.
