The public is invited to discover Pensacola State College’s Warrington campus at a free event from 4:30 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Student Services Building 3600, 5555 West Hwy. 98. The event is geared for anyone interested in starting college, from high school students to those in the workplace who are looking for a new career, according to Frances Duncan, Warrington campus dean. “This will be an informal, relaxing event with plenty of opportunities to ask questions about any of Pensacola State’s programs, not just those offered on the Warrington campus,” Duncan said. Counselors will be on hand to provide details on admissions, financial aid, scholarships, academic programs, health care program requirements, and much more. Students and instructors will man information booths on the college’s more than 20 health care programs and will be available to answer questions. Most PSC health care programs include direct patient contact such as dental hygiene, EKG technician, nursing, EMT, paramedic, physical therapy assistant, pharmacy technician, and veterinary technology. Several programs have indirect patient contact such as health information management and medical records transcribing. In addition to its state-of-the-art health care programs and facilities, the PSC Warrington campus offers the basic general education courses needed for university transfer programs. Pensacola State offers more than 120 programs ranging from one-semester certificate programs to four-year baccalaureate degrees.
