Kevin Smith to produce “Staremaster” documentary with local company

Heretic Films and Kinematic Entertainment have announced that legendary filmmaker Kevin Smith and joined their documentary, The Staremaster, as Executive Producer. The Staremaster will follow the stories of three “Staremaster Legends” competing in a series of staring contest battles from Pensacola, Florida to Tokyo, Japan to become the first “Staremaster World Champion.” Starting with the early days of The Staremaster Project in Pensacola, Florida, the documentary shows the progression of a simple bar room contest to grand stages and championship tournaments with competitors that “Take Nothing Seriously.” Since its inception in 2000, The Staremaster Project has surprised, confused, and delighted audiences of all ages. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to collaborate with the incomparable Kevin Smith,” said The Staremaster producer Ben Galecki, “Kevin just got this project from the get go and the amount of experience and expertise he brings to the team is massive.” “I’ve been ‘making sense out of nonsense’ and ‘taking nothing seriously’ for 15 years. I’m totally stoked to be bringing the project to the next level with this team,” said director Sean Linezo. Production is currently underway with parts being filmed in Los Angeles, CA.
