Could a music festival be returning to downtown Pensacola? Entrepreneur Quint Studer will hold an open forum to discuss the possibility. “The purpose of the meeting is to gauge interest in the community in some type of music festival,” Studer said. Studer said he was inspired to explore the idea of a festival by Pensacola News Journal columnist Troy Moon’s piece remembering the annual Springfest which ended in 2005 after facing rising prices and declining attendance. The public is invited to come and offer their ideas on what a new festival might look like. Studer says there are no definite plans. “Until we have the meeting, there is not a time frame in mind,” Studer said. “We have to investigate many components to see if a festival makes financial sense.” For the moment, Studer says his role is to foster ideas. “My job is to help facilitate a conversation and if there is interest, on moving to next phase,” Studer said.
