Celebrating Pensacola's baseball legacy 23 former, current major league players and coaches were honored during the City of Champions A Night of Stars program at the Pensacola Bay Center.

Blue Wahoos owner Quint Studer and team president Bruce Baldwin were also honored for reviving professional baseball in Pensacola.

Hall of Fame pitcher Don Sutton and Mayor Ashton Hayward presented the players a special recognition followed by words of inspiration by Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter.

The third Night of Champions event at the Pensacola Bay Center is a tribute to baseball's history in this community.

Mr. Bill Bond, 92, was recognized for his many achievements that began in the 1950s. The Bill Bond Baseball League has been a launching ground for many of Pensacola's professional baseball players.

The event benefits the Pensacola Sports Museum.
