PPD badge pinning celebrates promotion of Martez Lawrence

A badge pinning is scheduled for Tuesday to honor the Pensacola Police department’s newest supervisor. Martez Lawrence, 35, has been promoted from officer to sergeant. His promotion takes effect March 2. Lawrence was hired as a cadet on Aug. 7, 2000, and was promoted to police officer on Feb. 4, 2002. Among his assignments have been uniform patrol division, field training officer and Vice & Narcotics. He is currently assigned to uniform patrol. The badge pinning is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at police headquarters, 711 N. Hayne St.
