News Talk 1370 WCOA presents town hall meeting “Education: Today and Tomorrow”

On Friday, April 24, 2015, News Talk 1370 WCOA will host a town hall meeting focusing on education in our community. Issues will include testing, common core, school rezoning, charter schools, guns on campuses, expanding school choice, teacher pay and evaluation, the PATS Program, state funding, college scholarships, grants and tuition. Moderated by 1370 WCOA Morning Show host Don Parker, the town hall meeting will be held at The Drowsy Poet located at 86 Brent Lane, and will be broadcast live on 1370 WCOA from 6:30am to 8am. Doors will open at 5:45am. Guest panelists will be Malcolm Thomas, Escambia County School Superintendent; Tim Wyrosdick, Santa Rosa County School Superintendent; Dr. Judy Bense, President of the University Of West Florida; Patty Hightower, Escambia County school board member district 4; and Shannon Nickinson, of the Studer Community Institute. Citizens are invited to come by and submit questions for the featured speakers, or they may e-mail questions to [email protected]. Complimentary coffee and pastries will be served.
