The Classic Movie Series returns with a special birthday screening of "Singin' In the Rain" on Saturday, April 11 at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Saenger. Admission for the movie musical is $5 and admission proceeds from the screening will be donated to the Great Saenger Pipe Organ Campaign. Tickets are available in advance at the Saenger Theatre Box Office, or on the day of the screening at 6 p.m. The Saenger first opened in 1925 with the silent film “The Ten Commandments” by Cecile B. DeMille and with the ongoing support of the community, has been a staple of arts and entertainment in Pensacola for 90 years. “The Friends of the Saenger wish Lady Saenger a very Happy Birthday. The Grand Dame of Palafox graces our community with the gift of culture and entertainment year after year,” said Sherri Weeks, president of the Friends of the Saenger. “We are grateful for everyone who continues to give generously. At 90 years young this Great Lady requires face lifts and other procedures from time-to-time! Thank you for your support.”
