SipSavorTalk, a new monthly social networking event centered on culinary and beverage tastings, is set to kickoff in Historic Belmont DeVilliers. With a mission to have participants experience beverage, food and conversation in a whole new way, SipSavorTalk blends the enhancement, exposure and education of wine, beer, liquors and teas with common and specialty foods. The inaugural SipSavorTalk guest is Raymond Forte, wine specialist with Southern Wine and Spirits, on Monday, April 20, 5–7 p.m. at Five Sisters Blues Café. Every third Monday, the culinary networking event will focus on a cuisine that may be familiar to most people, yet used in a unique way. “We’ll introduce different wines, beers, liquors and teas and pair them with food items to enhance our daily meals, as well as provide a bit of uniqueness for those special occasions," said Robin Reshard, creative director of Robert Robino Productions, who partnered with her husband, Lloyd Reshard, owner of the Pensacola Network, and Cecil Johnson, owner of Five Sisters Blues Café, to offer SipSavorTalk for people to meet and socialize around the enhancement and education of food and drink. “It’s what we love to do,” said Johnson. “We always look for ways to show off those items that we love that may or may not be on our menu, and SipSavorTalk gives us that opportunity.” And it gives the opportunity to showcase the culinary skills – and some secrets – of other area restaurant and independent chefs as well as wine, beer and liquor specialists who will join as special guests every month. “I think that’s the beauty of networking,” said Lloyd Reshard. “Whether you’re talking about business, sports, parenting or the latest trends in fashion, it’s always more friendly and personable when food is involved.” Reshard said she expects to see food and beverage enthusiasts, social butterflies and individuals representing every community and business spectrum. “Therein lies the beauty of SipSavorTalk," she said. "There’s so much to explore!” Tickets to the inaugural event are $10 and can be purchased online at www.SipSavorTalk.com.
