Lt. Col. Daniel M. Gade is an active duty Army officer and Iraq War amputee whose research and perspectives on veterans' care have been featured in The New York Times and other national media. On Friday, May 15, Lt. Col. Gade will address the Panhandle Tiger Bay Club on the "A Better Way to Help Veterans: The State of Veterans Policy Today.” Gade, who is currently an associate professor of public policy at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, travels the country pushing the idea that the Department of Veterans Affairs should move from paying veterans for their wounds and work toward creating incentives for disabled veterans to find work or create a business. The luncheon will take place at New World Landing. Lunch is at 11:30, and the meeting will commence at noon. The cost is $35 for Tiger Bay guests. To RSVP, call (850) 293-1902 or email [email protected].
