Two high-profile Pensacola attorneys were honored by their peers in a special report released today in Florida Trend magazine.

Personal injury lawyers Donovan Whibbs and Scott Stone were named as Legal Elite for 2015, a peer recognition program honoring Florida’s top attorneys. The list represents fewer than 2 percent of active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida.

“It is an honor to be recognized by our peers, colleagues and clients,” said Donovan Whibbs, managing partner of Whibbs & Stone. “It’s a great validation of the efforts we put into high quality services and a true connection with our clients and businesses in the region.”

Voting for this year’s Legal Elite attorneys began in October 2014 when Florida Trend invited all in-state members of the Florida Bar to participate by naming attorneys whom they hold in the highest regard or would recommend to others.

Only lawyers currently licensed and practicing in Florida were eligible for selection. A panel of previous Legal Elite winners reviewed the selection process and the list of finalists.

In addition, Donovan Whibbs, Scott Stone and Ryan M. Barrett were also recently named as Super Lawyers by the magazine of the same name, which is published in all 50 states and in England and distributed to attorneys.

Super Lawyers, a Thomas Reuters business, is a rating service from more than 70 practice areas of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phased process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area.

The final published list represents no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in each state.
