Pensacola International Airport and OHM Concessions Group on Tuesday, July 7, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the airport’s renovated and expanded food and beverage concession areas.

The new concessions include Pensacola Beach House bar and restaurant, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Freshens and Chick-Fil-A, all operated by OHM Concessions Group. Attendees got a chance to sample items from each restaurant, including Baklava French Toast bites, Pot Pie Fritter mini’s and brownie bites. Guests were also able to meet some of OHM’s 63 local employees that greet and welcome passengers traveling through our Airport every day.

“Pensacola International Airport continues to be the leading airport between New Orleans and Jacksonville and an economic engine for the region,” said Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward. “Our new concessions program has helped us provide travelers with more variety and value while boosting the airport’s non-airline revenue. Moving forward, we’ll continue to grow our airport, compete for new carriers and new routes, and provide passengers with a continuous ‘Fly Easy’ experience."

The post-security Pensacola Beach House, headed by Chef Michael Isabella, features other hot menu items such as the Blue Angels Burger, shrimp and grits, and breakfast items such as Baklava French Toast and a side of Beach House Potatoes.

Einstein Bros. Bagels, a leader in the quick-casual segment of the restaurant industry, offers fresh-baked bagels and other baked goods, made-to-order sandwiches, crisp salads and gourmet coffee. Freshens, which bills itself as a “fresh food studio,” focuses on crepes, salads, and flatbreads, along with fresh-blended smoothies and frozen yogurt.

OHM’s restaurants at Pensacola International Airport use fresh produce from Flora-Bama Farms and Gulf Coast Produce and pour drafts from McGuire’s Irish Pub and Pensacola Bay Brewery.

The city’s contract with OHM is expected to generate more than $1 million over 10 years in additional non-airline revenue for Pensacola International Airport.

Since transitioning to the new concessions program, overall sales have increased by more than 15 percent, with sales per enplaned passenger have increased from a fiscal year 2013 average of $3.19 to $4.85 in May 2015.
