Want to be successful? Take some time off

Entrepreneur and author Damon Brown has a new blog piece up over at Inc.com, in which he points out that many successful entreprenuers are afraid of stepping away from their business for themselves.

His case in point is the legendary entreprenuer Elon Musk. Musk made his feelings on vacations clear in a recent interview.

"The first time I took a week off, the Orbital Sciences rocket exploded and Richard Branson's rocket exploded," Musk said. "In that same week, the second time I took a week off, my rocket exploded. The lesson here is don't take a week off."

But Brown believes this is an oversimplification and that business leaders must take time off to maintain success.

It may be a brilliantly logical man showing his superstitious side, but his phobia of vacation echoes what many of us believe: You can't afford to stop. Evidence now shows that you can't afford not to stop, but there are many reasons why you believe you can't have or don't deserve a break.
