Real Time Economics at the Wall Street Journal produced an interactive graphic that allows you to compare your salary to the rest of the nation’s workers. Here’s where Pensacola’s real per capita income ranks.

Real Time Economics at The Wall Street Journal posted an interactive graphic that puts your income into perspective.

"What Percent Are You?" allows you to plug in your income to see how you compare to folks across the country. You can filter the data by genders, generation, education level and race.

The real per capita income of the Pensacola metro area for 2013 was $38,389. That's a measure on the Studer Community Institute's Pensacola Metro Dashboard, developed with the University of West Florida to provide a snapshot of the social, educational, and economic well-being of the community.

Real per capita income is different than median or average wage. It is the total gross domestic product of the area, adjusted for inflation and divided by the working age population.

Our friends at the UWF Office of Economic Development and Engagement and the Haas Center for Business Research and Economic Development say it is a good measure of the typical worker's buying power.
