City of Pensacola's Spring youth athletics program registration open

The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for several spring youth athletics programs including Girls Fast Pitch Softball, Girls Volleyball, T-ball, and Soccer. These programs will begin in mid-March and continue through the month of May. Girls Fast Pitch Softball is offered for ages 7 to 16. Games will be played at Exchange Park, 3200 East Lakeview Avenue. The cost is $83 for city residents or $93 for non-city residents and includes a uniform shirt and pants (shorts for some ages). Girls Volleyball is open to girls ages 9-14. This is the same league that played at Vickrey Resource Center which is still closed for repairs. Games will be played at Malcolm Yonge Gym this season, 925 East Jackson Street. The cost is $72 for city residents or $83 for non-city residents and includes a uniform shirt. T-ball is offered for boys and girls ages 4 to 6 and games will be played at Roger Scott Athletic Complex, 2130 Summit Boulevard. The cost is $83 for city residents or $93 for non-city residents and includes a uniform shirt and pants. Registration for all three programs can be completed in person at Gull Point Resource Center, 7000 Spanish Trail, and Woodland Heights Resource Center, 111 Berkley Drive or mailed to Exchange Park. The eligibility date is January 1, 2015 for each sport. For more information about these programs, please call 850-912-4109 or email [email protected]. The Northeast Pensacola Optimist Club Soccer program is offered for boys and girls ages 4 to 15 at Roger Scott Athletic Complex. The cost is $60 for city residents or $70 for non-city residents. Uniforms are an additional $27 which includes a shirt, shorts and socks. Shin guards and cleats are participants’ responsibility. Soccer registration can also be dropped off in person at Gull Point and Woodland Heights Resource Centers or they can be mailed to David Werdung at 793 Cedar Tree Lane, Cantonment, Florida 32533.
