Leadership tip: don't generalize recognition

I know we all want to be positive, but be careful not to make sweeping statements like "everybody's going a great job."
High performers know who's doing a good job and who isn't pulling their weight, so they might get upset that everyone's getting the same amount of recognition. And low performers might get the wrong idea and think they don't need to improve.
So while you may want to make a big communication, you're better off being specific. Reward and recognize, but don't overgeneralize.
