Lots of folks got muddy for a good cause on Oct. 11. The Pensacola Mud Run raised some $55,000 to benefit Pathways for Change, a counseling and training nonprofit that aims to help people with substance abuse issues and reduce poverty through education and skills training. Connie Bookman, executive director and founder of Pathways for Change, said last year the event raised $20,000. The funds are earmarked for use in the Pathways Family Center, but some of it will go toward needs at the men’s residential treatment center, too, Bookman says.
