The First City Arts Center will hold its annual Holiday Art Sale on Dec. 5, as part of its regular Hot Glass Cold Brew event. The sale will continue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec.6. Holiday shoppers can find one-of-a-kind pieces made in various mediums. The sale will feature works from FCAC glass and pottery guild members, as well as gallery artists. Hot Glass Cold Brew is a fundraiser that directly supports First City Art Center and its programs.  While supplies last, guests will receive a hand-blown glass or hand-thrown pottery cup. Patrons will also enjoy brew courtesy of Pensacola Bay Brewery and Escambia Bay Homebrewers; both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.  A special guest chef will also cater the event. Doors open at 5 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $25 for non-members and $20 for members.  Guests can choose to bring a cup from a previous HGCB and get $5 off.  For those who sign up for a new FCAC membership on that evening, entry is free. The event will also include the gallery opening of “The Small Show,” showcasing works from FCAC gallery artists. There will also be live glass and pottery demos by FCAC artists, including a special demo by visiting artist Phil Vinson and a live painting demo by award winning local artist, Loren Miller, who creates visual pieces that combine the worlds of classical realism with modern impressionism. Attendees can also take part in First City Art Center's ‘Before I Die’ project.  This is “an interactive public art project that invites people to share their personal aspirations in a public space”.  There are over 400 ‘Before I Die’ walls in over 60 countries, in over 25 languages. There will be children’s activities lead by FCAC instructors, with special assistance from Cub Scout Pack 608. The activities will take place during the HGCB event and each child will create a project to take home.
