Credit Union earns 5-Star rating

Members First Credit Union of Florida is a five-star financial institution. The credit union announced Wednesday that it received BauerFinancial’s 5-Star Superior rating for strength and security. BauerFinancial Inc of Coral Gables, the nation’s credit union and banking rating firm, has evaluated and rated credit unions since 1983. A 5-Star Superior rating indicates that Members First Credit Union of Florida is among the strongest in the nation, exceilling in areas of capital, loan quality, profitability and more. Members Frist has earned this highest rating for the most recent 80 consecutive quarters, which secures an elite status as “sustained superior credit union.” Only 10 percent of credit unions nationwide have earned and mained Bauer’s top rating as long and consistently. Competitive rates, low fees and a feeling of ownership are hallmarks of U.S. credit unions, says Karen L. Dorway, president of BauerFinancial. “Credit unions, like Members First Credit Union of Florida, take their responsibility a step further by maintaining the highest level of financial strength for their members,” Dorway says. “At all credit unions, members pool their deposits to offer loans and services to each other.
