Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency, in partnership with Artel Gallery and Lamar Advertising, is proud to announce the second annual Celebrating Brownsville Festival featuring the “For the Love of Brownsville” juried art exhibition the last Saturday in April.

The community festival will be held at 3300 Mobile Highway in Pensacola from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. The festival will feature an afternoon of local art, vendors and a full line-up of live entertainment.

This year’s festival will bring an eclectic mix of music – from blues and Motown to electro-world/hip-hop to a youth band. Festival-goers will hear performances by four-piece blues band Cat Rhodes and The Truth, Brownsville duo Rivka and Mike Ill of the band Madd Happy and the Belmont Youth Band.

In addition to a selection of free children’s activities, this year’s lineup will also feature a pottery wheel workshop hosted by the First City Art Center. A selection of food will be provided on a first come, first served basis.

The unveiling of the winning artwork from the “For the Love of Brownsville” Juried Art Exhibition will take place at approximately 2 p.m. Select artwork will become part of the ongoing Celebrating Brownsville Urban Art Mural Project and reproduced and installed on the streets of Brownsville.

The Community Redevelopment Agency is proud to bring urban art to the Brownsville area. To date, a total of 12 murals have been placed around the Brownsville area, celebrating the business and residents of the Brownsville community.
