Faster internet speeds for Cox customers in Florida

Cox Communications today announced that it has increased the speeds on two packages of Internet service for all customers. Cox High Speed Internet Essential increased from 5 megabits per second to 15 megabits per second. Cox High Speed Internet Starter is now five times faster increasing from 1 megabit per second to 5 megabits per second. The new speeds automatically go into effect for customers on these packages. With speeds as fast as 150Mbps, Cox is continuing to provide its customers some of the fastest speeds in Florida with plans to increase speeds on the Ultimate package later this year. “This increase is the result of our investment in our network and commitment to offer access and choice to meet the needs of all our customers. We know this is especially important in today’s world where more and more devices are connected in the home,” stated Jacqui Vines, senior vice president and region manager for Cox Southeast. “We will continue to invest in our network to bring our customers the best online experience possible, enhancing the value of the bundle of video, Internet, phone and home security services.” In fact, the increased speeds come on the heels of a double speed increase on the two most popular packages late last year. The company also announced plans to have gigabit speeds to all markets by the end of 2016.
