SCI TV Show: Getting ready for preschool

The Studer Community Institute’s TV Show this week on BlabTV highlights the importance of getting young children registered and ready for preschool.

In the first segment, Community Action Program Committee Executive Director Doug Brown, and Janet Dickinson, Director of Education, talk about Head Start and Early Start, outlining the process and procedures for registering children between the ages of 0 to 5 years old for the early learning programs.

In segment two, Vicki Pugh and Hope Wilson of the Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County, lays out the history of Florida's Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program and what parents need to know to get their child in the free, statewide preschool program.

The Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County and Escambia’s Early Head Start and Head Start both are taking applications to fill spots in their early learning programs before school starts on Aug. 10.
