The 2015 Blue Angel Music Blues on the Bay Summer Concert Series lineup is ready to rock and roll.
The Community Maritime Park Associates, Blues Angel Music, and the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department this week announced the summer-long shows.
From May through August, the concert series will offer an array of free musical shows, ranging from Blues and R&B to Classic Rock and Jazz.
Blue Angel Music store owner Jim DeStafney says he is delighted to again be a sponsor of the Blues on the Bay summer concert series.
DeStafney says he’s especially excited about the diverse lineup, including including several "Tribute" bands (Elton john and the Beatles), Blues, R&B/Soul/Funk, Oldies, Retro Country, Classic rock, and Jazz.
“In this the second year of the series, we have broadened the band selections to include genres other than strictly Blues,” DeStafney says. “We have a really exciting and diverse lineup, and we're also planning on having several musical guests at some of the performances.”
All of this year’s performers are known for their very high-energy shows, DeStafney says.
“You won't just hear music,” he said. “You're also going to see a very entertaining musical show.”
All concerts begin at 6 p.m. They are free and open to the public. The sponsors, include Blues Angel Music, Community Maritime Park Associates, City of Pensacola, Jet 100.7 FM, Soft Rock 94.1 FM, Magic 106.1 FM, Nash 102.7 FM, News Talk 1370 AM, Cox Media, Ballinger Publishing’s Downtown Crowd and Gosport, Cat Country 98.7 FM and News Radio 1620 AM. Pets or glass containers are not allowed at the park.
Blues Angel Music again will be giving away numerous prizes to attendees at each performance, DeStafney says.
DeStafney believes people will enjoy the shows at the Maritime Park amphitheater, a place he says is unquestionably one of the most beautiful and enjoyable outdoor live music venues in the region.
“With this lineup of performers this summer, we expect the attending crowds to increase significantly,” he says. “Get there early...tell your friends...bring your chairs and coolers, and prepare to enjoy the best, free summer concert series on the Gulf Coast — Blues On The Bay."
