A Molino Park Elementary School teacher has been named elementary reading teacher of the year by the Florida Reading Association.

Sara Calhoun is among the classroom teachers honored with one of the 2014 Literacy Leader awards from Just Read, Florida!, in partnership with the Florida Reading Association and the Florida Literacy Coaches Association.

The state Department of Education announced the winners Monday.

“We are thrilled to announce and recognize these outstanding leaders in our schools and districts” said Executive Director of Just Read, Florida! Wendy Stevens in a news release. “These literacy leaders are helping all students become master learners.”

Districts nominated one literacy leader for each category, including winners at the superintendent, district principal and coach level.
