Racquet Round-Up starts June 2

The Pensacola Sports Association has announced dates and locations for the 2015 Pensacola Racquet Round Up, a series of free tennis clinics for area youth.

— June 2-4: Roger Scott Tennis Center – Ages 4-8 (8 a.m. to 10 a.m.) and ages 9-12 (10 a.m. to noon).
— June 8: Pensacola Naval Air Station Tennis Courts – Ages 4-8 (8 a.m. to 10 a.m.) and ages 9-12 (10 a.m. to noon).
— June 10: Hollice T. Williams Park (Under I-110) – Ages 4-8 (8 a.m. to 10 a.m.) and ages 9-12 (10 a.m. to noon).
— June 17: University of West Florida – Ages 4-8 (8 a.m. to 10a.m.) and ages 9-12 (10 a.m. to noon).
— June 18-19: Shoreline Park/ Gulf Breeze – Ages 4-8 (8 a.m. to 10a.m.) and ages 9-12 (10 a.m. to noon).

Any kids ages 4-12 are invited to attend the free clinics. All skill levels are welcome. The clinics are intended to introduce the game to tennis in a fun, relaxed, and learning environment. Area tennis professionals will lead the instruction. Participants are encouraged to bring their own rackets, appropriate tennis shoes and clothes, water bottle, and sun screen. In the event a child does not have a racquet, free racquets will be available to use during the clinic. Parents can register their children several ways including online at www.pensacolasports.com or by visiting their local tennis centers and pro shops and filling out a paper form. This year’s Racquet Round Up is also being supported by the Richard Jones Memorial Fund.
